Why is my printer offline?

This guide helps you quickly identify and fix why your printer shows offline in SimplyPrint. Find your integration type below for targeted troubleshooting.

Bambu Lab

SimplyPrint connects to Bambu Lab printers through the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client - running on the device where you installed it during initial setup.

Quick checklist:

  1. Is the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client running?
  2. Open the client - what status does your printer show? (Offline/Connecting/Online)
  3. If stuck on Connecting, restart the client
  4. Make sure LAN-only Mode and Developer Mode are enabled on your printer

OctoPrint

SimplyPrint connects through the SimplyPrint plugin installed in OctoPrint.

Quick checklist:

  1. Is your printer online in OctoPrint itself? If not, fix that first
  2. Is the SimplyPrint plugin installed and enabled?
  3. Check your USB cable - must be a data cable, not charge-only
  4. Check Raspberry Pi power supply - undervoltage causes disconnections

Klipper (Mainsail/Fluidd)

SimplyPrint connects through Moonraker - the API that Mainsail and Fluidd also use.

Quick checklist:

  1. Can you access Mainsail or Fluidd? If not, your printer has issues - not SimplyPrint
  2. Is [simplyprint] in your moonraker.conf?
  3. Try restarting Moonraker from the web interface
